Simple Dog Sweater Project
We have received 1000's of requests for dog sweaters and coats. Thousands of crocheters are asking for pet sweaters. Truth is, you could use this same sweater for a cat but good luck getting your cat into it. I know our cats would rip our eyes out if we tried. I would have liked to get our cats posing in my sweater but I think my life isn't worth it.
In the fairness of creativity, I didn't design this dog coat. Eleanor Miles-Bradley designed this dog coat for Red Heart Yarns. In keeping with requests, I decided to keep all stitches like single crochet to keep my tutorial basic to help newbie crocheters. I haven't changed any stitch counts or sizing. I have also not changed any colours within my tutorial. You can change the colours if you prefer.

- Crinkle Stitch

- Crochet Dog or Cat Pet Bed
Ultimately, if you like to change colour or even get this fabulous design, you can simply follow the written instructions to achieve it. As an experienced crocheter, I really like the changes of colour and the Long Single Crochet Stitch that she is asking for.
A tip for you. If you are following the pattern for what the designer is asking for. Each colour is used for two rows before changing. When planning out this sweater, as long as you keep this in mind, your colours will work out perfectly.
Get the free design, Dog Sweater Crochet Pattern to follow along with my video tutorial. It is my guess, once you follow this design, your mind will be spinning on other ideas and colour options for dog coats. When following along, be sure to pay attention that there is a small, medium and large size indicated in the pattern.

Monique, we don't charge for ad-free pdfs. I don't understand as we don't even have a shopping portal on our website installed to sell anything, including downloads. We don't require logins for access to the patterns or purchases.
There was a blue button on the article to go get the pattern. We are not like other creators that practice a paid ad-free download. I hate the concept of that and don't use that practice on this site.
Please take a look, you'll see.

be truthful....you didn't bother to click on the Pattern box, you just ASSUMED. Hmmmm....
If you had clicked on the Pattern box, you would have found the TOTALLY FREE pattern, no sign in required.
Hope you have a better day!

well now. I clicked on the blue button that says PATTERN in CAPS as always, not the ad. And it took me to the free pattern, as always. It was indeed, that easy.

I don't know where you get the idea that you have to pay, I downloaded for free. No ads, just the pattern. If you click the blue button that says "Pattern," you will get it for free, no need to have it emailed to you. I think you owe Mikey an apology.

Monique,
Actually, Mikey usually uses Yarnspirations.com patterns, especially for his crochet-along tutorials, which are 100% FREE. I recommend The Crochet Crowd a lot to new crocheters because of this reason. Yarnspirations has a huge database of patterns that you can search through (even using filters to find patterns based on your specific skill level, or type of project you want to do, type of yarn, or many other available choices) and they are all FREE PRINTABLE PDFs, no ads and no signup or login required anywhere! So when he gives you a link to a pattern it will take you straight there and you can just print it, FREE. There’s no lying and no misrepresentation. (Just to make sure things haven’t changed since last time I looked, I did click on this blue pattern button for the dog sweater and, just like all the other ones I have utilized from this site, It was completely free and printable). I think because it is common practice on other blogs sites to provide printable ad free PDFs only after payment, you may have made some assumptions that just aren’t true. Luckily you stumbled onto The Crochet Crowd, so now going forward you have the whole catalog of Yarnnspirations.com patterns at your disposal. Have fun looking through the thousands of FREE FREE FREE patterns!! I’ve made tons of things from Yarnspiration patterns, and if you are new then I suggest checking out which ones Mikey has done tutorials for as it will really help you learn to read the patterns and teach you any new skills required. Good luck and happy crocheting!
