Aran Toggle Crochet Wrap

The Toggle Crochet Wrap is our stitch along where the steps will be broken down into chewable video tutorial sizes. At the time of starting to film this, I don't quite understand the pattern. In large patterns like this, I cannot focus on the entire pattern and just follow the sections piece by piece, and it will come together.

For the tutorial, I am using Caron One Pound in the solid colour of Taupe. I love Caron One Pound for these applications as the ply is thicker. It washes well too.

I plan on starting Thursday, October 6, 2022 and each Thursday, the next part will be filmed. For example, in the first video, we will do the Right Side, Rows 1 to 18 in the first video. There's a lot of work there for you to work through.

In doing stitch alongs, this allows people to do multiple of these as the time between the videos is used to do the work. Of course, if you don't need my help, just grab the free download and go at your own pace.

Like any textured project, it uses more yarn to thicken the fabric you will create. I once was in a meeting with Yarnspirations, and they said making a poncho or wrap like this is equivalent to a throw-size blanket. I hadn't thought of terms like that.

I would ask that you not try to push me faster. This significant project suddenly landed on my plate with a request from tutorial users and Yarnspirations itself. I'm happy to help.

I went down a hook size to make gauge. Gauge is for length and not for width. I get 49 in for length instead of 47. The width at row 18 is only 8 in. Is there any way to find out the width of each panel? I could add rows to each section. Like extra rows of the first row section and extra bobble rows. But I don't know what width I'm shooting for. Otherwise I'm just not going to continue. Thanks.

The design is old and the sample is long gone. I cannot get that information from the design as it's not recorded and the sample is long gone. On what I am crocheting, my sample for the tutorial is 10" for the mock seed stitch. My length is 47" now, but I still have to do the border work at the end, which will increase the width further. The draping, once done will also cause it to droop a bit as right now it's just a sample on our laps that haven't been stretched a bit through wearing it. I'm sorry this pattern is causing you so much distress.

I did a gauge and went down to I hook. After finishing row 18, the width is only 8 in and the length is 49. What should the width be approximately? Thinking I should start over. Thanks

    Hi Mikey!
thanks for this CAL. I love textured fabric. I do have a request, though. I don't like the huge "bumps" ithe wrap. Maybe that is popcorn stitch? Could you place suggest alternative stitches? I canlook up the stitch, if I know what to search. A lower-profile bump would be fine. I just see myself catcng the bumps on nearby items as I walk by.

Thanks so much. Love your videos, and I usually prefer written inductions, so that is saying something! 😉

I haven't got that far in filming yet but I am concerned if I change something that the structure of the stretch may change and I won't know that until I am near the end. I think probably for you is to experiment and see. if i suggest something prematurely, I could be setting people up for failure without knowing the end results. I am filming this sample in real time, unfortunately.
