Addictive and transforming a Caron Cinnamon Swirl Cakes into a fancy crochet winter hat without being too complex. A design with each repeating and letting the yarn play its colours out. A free pattern and crochet diagram will help you along the way. Designed by Mikey for your stitching pleasure. This is the Crochet Cinnamon Swirl Cakes Winter Hat Pattern.
Using Caron Cinnamon Swirl yarn, you can create unique-looking crochet hooks with colouring that is delightful and fun to crochet.
I have crocheted 2 samples. The Cookie Cream (blanket and white) and Berry Twist (tutorial fun berry colours).
The Cookie Cream version is shorter by 1.5” in height. The Berry Twist version is more toque-like.

Top Tails
Decide 4 colours from the remaining ball. Separate the colours completely from each other so there is 4 mini yarn balls.
Join first colour to the top edge of the hat with a sl st.
Ch 1, 1 sc in same sp as join. Ch 15. 1 sl st 2nd ch from hook and in each ch back to the top edge. Do one more sc evenly spaced.
Begin a second sc evenly space but the final pull through of 2 with a new colour. Carry unused colour across as you will use it again.
Ch 15. 1 sl st 2nd ch from hook and in each ch back to the top edge. Do one more sc evenly spaced.
Begin a second sc evenly space but the final pull through of 2 with a new colour. Carry unused colour across as you will use it again.
Keep repeating. Once the four colours have cycled through, you will pick up the first colour and keep strand tot. Repeat the previous instruction and cycle through. Each colour doesn’t have to be used in the same number; just continue across.
Fasten off all strands at the end.
Pull the top closed by double stranding into a tapestry needle and carry the yarn on the top edge without the tails getting in the way. Pull firmly shut and use the remaining to sew the top closed back and forth to close the remaining hole.
