Yarnspirations is looking for six yarn-related stitch groups to send them 150 balls of Red Heart yarn to help replenish the group's inventory. In addition to the donation, Yarnspirations is looking for inspirational stories that you can help create when you donate your finished items to charity.
The offer has now expired. Look for the new year in the middle of summer for the next opportunity.
You must submit your application from August 19th to August 25th, 2024. Don't rush; consider your application when filling in the form for the stories you will share about your group. You can only apply once. However, multiple people of the same charity group can use it. Be sure each form is unique—only one application per person.
People frequently ask for free yarn, but this is how you do it.
Tips for asking for free yarn for your yarn group. You will be asked to share about your group:
- Keep the sharing on point and highly inspirational. You don't need to type in a novel, but hit those moments that made your heart(s) pitter-patter with feelings that inspired your group.
- Tell Yarnspirations details, such as when your group meets up and how many people show up, maybe even a funny story that happened in your group while you were stitching together.
- Share about further outreach your group might do within your community.
- They are going to want to know if you are donating your projects.
- Share a few photos of your group in session or outreach you did that happened.
- You can nominate someone else who may be in a yarn community group, even if you don't crochet or knit yourself. Maybe drop a hint for family and friends to nominate a group.

Mikey's home group, Stitchers In The Valley, is void of this as he tends to give yarn that is given to him from Yarnspirations to participants in the group for their charity stitching.
Red Heart Community Spotlight
We love to recognize all the ways our community gives back! With our Red Heart community spotlight, we want to celebrate the inspiring stories from your stitch groups. Next year, Red Heart Yarn will feature six community groups alongside their favourite Red Heart patterns. In addition, we want to reward the winners with 150 balls of Red Heart yarn to get their next project going.
Other Yarn That's New to Red Heart in 2024. This yarn isn't part of the donation, but it is a beautiful one to enjoy.

Thank you for sharing this great opportunity with all of us.
Your videos have helped me to learn how to crochet, and they still do. I have started teaching and often refer to your methods in my classes.
I enjoy being able to share my love of crochet with others who can appreciate it and are eager to learn.
