Modern Granny Winter Poncho
This Modern Granny Winter Poncho pattern, could really be called, "Modern Granny Meets Glacier Cowl". I decided for my third poncho in the series to add a ribbed turtleneck to it in the same stitch that I used when crocheting the Glacier Cowl. If you are someone who doesn't like anything on your neck, you can simply leave off the collar and still have a beautiful winter poncho.
I used 3 Caron Cakes in the Blueberry Shortcake colorway because I love the ease of the self-striping yarn. You can always choose any worsted weight yarn in either a solid color or stripe it as you desire. You can also adjust the size by simply adding more rounds to reach your desired length.

I am wondering if it would be possible to make this pattern for a 10 yr old....I think my granddaughter would love this...but I am not sure how to reduce the pattern to start with...any suggestions would be great

I'm making one for a 10 year old as we speak. She's very tall but I took 6 chain off the neck line and just did the rows until it was the right length! I hope that helps

Hi! This is a beautiful pattern. I was wondering how many beginning stitches to add to make the neck bigger? I am using a lighter weight yarn. Thank you for all your lovely patterns. They are so easy to follow.
Cheers,

Alana - looks like to me that the neck needs to be in sets of four. Two front post dc, two back post dc around. - LJ
