Hypnotic Tiles Afghan
Introducing the Crochet Hypnotic Tiles Afghan by me, Mikey of The Crochet Crowd. This is using Caron Cakes Yarn featuring the Red Velvet Colour.
In my design today, there are layers within each of the squares that are in the afghan. The afghan is made up of 20 squares that are joined as you go and then with a final border around the edge.

The pattern isn't difficult but has a texture that includes layers of texture and with the colour transitions of this yarn, the afghan looks amazing.

I got my first square done and have tried and tried to get it straightened out but it is all wonky. I hate blocking stuff and 99% of the time don't have to because I can just stretch it out but I am having a terrible problem with this one. Plus, I think blocking would take forever since it is join-as-you-go. Is there a special tip or hint you can give me to keep the square more square? Thanks in advance! I love the look of this blanket and this yarn is awesome!

Once a skein is almost finished, does it matter if you use it to start the next square, then just attach a new skein that starts with a different color? Or should you try to match the new color to the old skein?
Mikey, The Crochet Crowd says
Just start the next ball as is. No doctoring required. This will help make the squares look differently from each other.

Hi! Just started my border for the hypnotic tiles blanket and had just one question. The second row in the video is 2sc ch2 2sc in each corner but in the written part I believe it says 1sc ch2 1sc. Does it matter or does one work better? Thanks!
