The Study of Determination Blanket designed by Mikey. A sampler that makes synchronizing swimming look easy!

The pattern is a stitch-along and will release new sections every Thursday for August 2023. After August 2023, the design will be put into one mega pattern for download.
Mikey designed the afghan back in August 2022 and just made quick diagram notes for the design but when it came to the finished piece, it's been rough! Squeezing into a floatie is a lot easier! In the end, I determined to make the stitches work to do a 'ta dah' moment in the end.

UPDATED INFO
The sign-up announcement will start on Thursday, July 20, 2023.
The stitch-along starts officially on August 3, 2023. We delayed the start-up until after Canada Day and Independence Day because of respect for the Canadian and USA celebration holidays. The yarn is listed below if you want to collect your yarn at any time.
The blanket will be bold and a reason to reach for the stars. Like the guy in the picture, he's probably like me in reaching up and saying, "Great, the challenge has started, and, oh yeah, the buffet is open!" I can totally relate to him.
Yarn
This will be the regular stitch along with our friends at Yarnspirations when we get moving on this. We are too early to start sign-ups to have this pattern delivered to you each week.
I was looking for yarn that was more vibrant than Caron One Pound and rediscovered a yarn that I had just pushed aside back in 2013. You can see more about Red Heart Comfort here. The yarn line had fresher summery colours. It matched the concept that I had in my head.
There are six balls in total. The yardage seems to go on forever and ever! You know me, I love long-yardage yarn! You will have yarn left over for other projects.
The colours are as follows for Going Boldy, one ball each:
Hot Pink
Goldenrod
Petal Pink
Peacock
Charcoal
Gray
The colours are as follows for the Flower Vase, one ball of each:
Cream
Charcoal
Gray
Seafoam
Petal Pink
Hot Pink
I am still in the design stage and don't know what colour I use most. I will weigh my yarn and accurately guess the yardage per colour.
I was focused on doing cross-over stitches—variations of crisscrossing design.
I developed a stitch doing crisscrossing over 2 spaces. In person, is magnificent to look at. I'm unsure if the photo really captures it.
One of my favourite summer afghans of the past was the Juicy Fruits and Whipped Creme Throw. If you kick the model off the couch, you will see the entire blanket and the colours are vibrant and have a summer look to it. Yes, there's a tutorial for it too.
If you enjoy Stitch Alongs, you can see more than we have done below.

I want to do this as a Pride throw in Hobii Horizon (color 12), each ball is 601 yards. How many balls would I need to accomplish all tutorials (56 rounds).?
Mikey says
I used Red Heart Comfort Yarn. Here is the stats per ball. Ball size Solids: 454 g/16 oz, 792 meters/867 yards
I used 6 colours but some of the balls, I used less than the full ball size. If you are just using 1 colour throughout, I would guestimate 7 to 8 of what you have. I don't know the break down per colour.
Hope this helps.
