Yarnspirations, over the years, continues to push forward on the technology. Some yarns, such as Bernat Mosaic, had the technology, and others in a roving-based yarn, but in recent years, the concept for polyester and acrylic yarns are now here and are called Perfect Phasing with Yarnspirations.
In past years, some yarns like Red Heart Super Saver Ombre were amazing but the yarn does jump from colour to colour and you can see the change of the dye at a point in the strand. While still amazing, people desired the concept of the colour to flow without a breaking spot.
As you crochet or knit, the product slowly changes its tone. Some products seamlessly jump to a completely different colour. Most stay within the same colour and slowly tint down or up, depending on the ball.
For myself with ADHD, this type of yarn keeps me interested.

I used Caron Colorama Halo, and each square has its own unique tone, making each square unique. Just two different ball colours can create this many unique varieties of squares with the perfect technology.
