I'm a 65 year old great grandma, I am self taught, except when I was a teenager, my grandmother went to her bedroom during one of our visits. She had a small bag in her hand, from which she removed a skein of yarn and a G hook. She had been after me for some time to let her teach me.. I thought, well I'm here and there's the yarn, so I'll satisfy her, let her show me how, and then I wouldn't have to hear it anymore. So I did, and she did.
Back in 1970's there wasn't any internet to help. So I started searching thru books and magazines of things I thought I would like to make ( just images, no pattern) My mother-in-law found a pick of a wagon wheel bed spread and she wanted it so BAD. Since I had been doing my bragging about how I was gonna teach myself, I thought I had better at least try. So I did. And guess what.. I made that spread, it wasn't perfect, but to me it looked pretty Fabulous. I've been hooking it EVERY day since then.
I've made everything from soup to hay.. lol. I have my own page on FB called What's on the Hook? I would love for you to Look me up. Check out some of my designs. Not everything you will see, is my design, but made with the help of awesome folks like the Crochet Crowd 😉 You're my go-to when I start a new project. Sometimes I even take ideas from 3-4 people and put them together for an unusual piece.

Afternoon Rhonda... I read your thoughtful message. Sounds like you are pretty savvy with a hook. Nothing in life is ever perfect but if you made it with intent and did your best, that's great too. Being perfect is overrated. I will look you up on Facebook. I don't get involved in too many groups as my notifications are already more than I handle. 🙂
Sorry for the delayed response, I'm struggling to stay caught up. Enjoy what this day has to offer.
