Coming in late March 2023 is the next Stitch Along with our friends at JOANN. For the first time, a knitting stitch-along will be hosted by Marly Bird. Both projects are not in the same category of the finished item as each other. Knitters will have a unique experience, but they go together in the same theme if that makes any sense. You can now download the full pattern as the stitch-along is complete.

I know there will be an outcry for the materials list, but I still have to keep it quiet. One of the colours I am using, if not two, is brand new for JOANN this spring. If I tell you now, it might not be on the shelves for a bit or available to order online. They need time to get the yarn to the stores and the online warehouses for those who prefer to shop online. There's no point upsetting people by showing yarn that isn't available yet.
Currently, I am filming the week-to-week adventure for the Stitch Along. It's a sampler, and two of the sections were fascinating. I had to relearn two sections and examine the finished sample so I could assist in teaching the correct elements.
My version, as usual, will be a blanket. It will be 49" x 54" long. Yes, it's not a square. You will have opportunities to pull sections of the blanket and make them a blanket on their own or even change the width of the sections to make it more comprehensive. Of course, you can make it longer too. The best thing is that the finished border will adjust without much thought to any size you do! It beautifully frames this one-of-a-kind blanket.
There will be no sign-ups. Just stay tuned. JOANN will give out the announcement once they are ready with the stock levels and the online warehouse is ready. I will update this article with more details and the Stitch Along details as information is allowed to be released.
I'm looking forward to seeing what colour options people do. I was moved emotionally by this blanket. It hit me in a good way about looking backward to what is currently in trend today.
I filmed this video log a week before this article. I cannot wait to see what people do with this... Hook up with me this spring! Some of you are going to blow this out of the water! You watch!
Introduction launches Monday, March 6 or Tuesday, March 7, 2023, for the general public.

hi .. this is way off course, I've been looking for a place to email or text ... I found one ... but really I was looking for the crochet pattern for a scarf you did ,said it had no pattern ... said you were going to a 70"s party around Halloween? it was neon colors ... so do ya have a pattern now ... I would love to try it ... so thanks to you and Daniel for your help over the years ...
Wendy Maruna says
We still don’t have an official pattern for that. He put out a video on it to show the technique used.
Here is the link to the article and the video is embedded in the article.

Hello. Are both of the thicker stripes 10 rows each as per written instructions? The picture looks like one is 10 and perhaps 8 as it's a bit thinner.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Mikey says
Just give time to look this up. I'm currently at the doctors. I'll try to follow up later tonight.
Mikey says
Yes, pattern states 10. I looked at the picture, the schematic shown does appear less but it's 10. I have the real sample here at my desk and verified that to be true.

Thanks so much ??

Question about gauge for the ruana
16 st-20 rows =4" in st stitch
17 st-32 rows=4" in mosaic st
Do I need to make 2 separate swatches?
This is the 2nd time I have asked this question with no reply, can someone please answer
Mikey says
Sorry for the delay. Let me ask Marly Bird about that. I don't know the answer first hand. I will get back to you.
Mikey says
The gauge on the article is for the Check... Please blanket. I didn't provide the gauge for the knitting for the Ruana. Here are the gauge swatches for the Ruana. Marly Bird will cover it in Week 1 of the tutorial and it's also on the written pattern when it comes out on March 27th.
And Marly is suggesting to do the gauge swatches for both of the types of stitches used to be sure it works for you and shapes perfectly.
GAUGES
16 sts and 20 rows = 4” [10 cm] in stocking st.
17 sts and 32 rows = 4” [10 cm] in Mosaic St Pat.
