UPDATED: Crochet Criss Cross Chevron Baby Blanket

    Sharing is caring!

Why buy a baby shower gift when you can crochet something special and unique?  I made this Crochet Criss Cross Chevron Baby Blanket for a co-worker who is soon to have a baby girl.  I was so attracted to the soft-look of Caron Jumbo Rosewood, then highlighted it with 2 neutral shades.

The pattern doesn't tell how many skeins of yarn to purchase, do I assume its one of each for the baby blanket?

JoAnne, I used only one of each color.

I'm on row 5 and my Afghan looks like a big ruffle. Is this the way the Afghan supposed to be? My mom says it doesn't look right. I really like the pattern and wanted to do it for my newborn grandson. I guess I'll just have to give up.

Okay... I was going to offer a thought but it sounds like you are already giving up. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you. Michael

Ok. I really like this pattern and haven't ripped out any stiches and I haven't worked on the baby blanket since. I've been trying to find a similar pattern where I wouldn't have to rip out everything I have done with no luck. Any suggestions would help.

Hi there I love love the criss cross baby blanket and it beautiful vintage look I just bought the yarn and was wondering how I can make it as a regular size afghan instead of a baby blanket size. Would very much appreciate your input. Kind regards Brigitte you can reach me at brigida-b@hotmail.com thank you

Brigitte, mine was 36" width and worked in multiples of 24 + 3. So just keep adding 24 more until you get to the width you prefer.

Hi, I'm new to crocheting, so, please forgive my question on row 1. On row 1 shouldn't you skip som stitches to start forming the scallops in the Afghan or will row 2 start making it to look like it's scalloped? My Afghan so far look like it's going in a circle.

Just picked up some yarn on sale that would work wonderfully for this pattern. Looking forward to hooking it.
