The Crochet Footsie Blanket is designed to keep your feet tucked into a pocket. No more feet popping out at the bottom.
I'm too tall for an average throw-size blanket. Instead of creating an obsession about extra length, I made a pocket that is 12" deep that I can slide my feet into to prevent my feet from poking out.
The entire project is the same length as my total height, so I have extra without forcing the blanket to stretch.
I intentionally created a striping effect at the bottom foot pocket area as this will most likely touch the floor. My cats sleep between my legs as I crochet. So they will sleep in the darker-coloured area without making my blanket look dirty too quickly.
I have included alternative information in the free downloadable PDF for the kid-size version. As an adult, I want to sleep on the sofa without feeling trapped. Thus, I only wanted a 12" deep pocket so I could easily get up.
I have given measurement options for those needing a chair or wheelchair size. The length is too long for being comfortable in a wheelchair. So, I have given alternative measurements for that as well.

I am also a great learner from the tutorials, just don't have much luck from the patterns, I learn more from watching, I also was hoping you would change your mind and do a tutorial on this cozy footsie snuggle. This is a very good gift to give to chair bound people due to the softness and squishyness of this Bernat blanket yarn, it will keep the heels from breaking down and sores from happening. Please please reconsider on doing a tutorial on this great pattern. Thank you and your team for all the great work you do.

Hi Mikey, I have completed the footsie part of the blanket but I'm confused about row one , it mentions chain one spaces but there aren't any , could you please explain? Thank you for your help
Sheila says
It would sure be great if Mikey would answer this question. The written pattern is wrong, PLEASE correct it!!! Thank you.
Mikey says
Reading this now. Sorry. I'm at the airport going home. I don't understand where the error is. Leave it with me. I don't know where to look where the error is shown. I'm so sorry.
Sheila says
Mikey you STILL have not addressed the error in row 1 of the open blanket instructions!! Please respond with the correct instructions. You cannot do a sc in the chain 1 space because there is NO chain 1 space.
Mikey says
I just got back from Ohio. I was backlogged and just fixed the error this morning. I'm still scrolling through and just found your request here. I'm sorry, there are so many messages that I am backlogged.
Sheila says
The error is ROW 1 in the open blanket written instructions.
Mikey says
Can be more specific. What is the error so I can zoom in on the issue.
Mary Birdsell says
Mikey, Can you please add the gauge for the footsie blanket?
