The Crochet Into The Light Afghan by Jeanne Steinhilber was a much-needed stitching journey. Filled with light bouncing textures.
Background Story:
The couple here from Nova Scotia is extremely fun. The husband here never had long hair, but Covid was hit with lockdowns. He made a pact that he would not cut his hair until the lockdowns were lifted. Lockdowns happened, I think, twice, maybe three times and masking restrictions lasted 18 months. He cut his hair after the masking limitation was lifted. He's cute either way.
My book was written and produced during Covid coming into being and this book was released before Covid restrictions were lifted.
Jeanne found herself trying to cope with emotions during this unprompted crochet design. It was never intended for the book, but when she showed us behind the scenes, we were gob-smacked by its intentional shadows.
Materials
Caron Cakes (249 g/8.5 oz, 407 m/445 yds) - Dusted Cream, 7 balls
Use 5.5 mm, U.S. I/9 hook or size to obtain gauge.
Measurements Approx 60” x 60” [152 x 152 cm]. Gauge is 12 sc and 14 rows = 4” [10 cm].
As Jeanne designed and hooked herself through this afghan, a lot of time of thinking was placed into this blanket. It's a blanket she cherishes. This blanket was sent back to Jeanne to gift to a friend who helped her claw her way out of the dark and into the light.

Hi... First I'd like to say how much I love yours and the gangs...lol... patterns. I recently saw a picture of the Into the light afghan and found it in your The Crochet Crowd book. My question is, it available also with a video tutorial.
I couldn't find anything on the website or FB, just the pattern itself. Thank you so much

Hello,
Is the 'Into the light afghan pattern' available to purchase as a pdf download.
I would love to purchase this pattern without having to buy the book as I can't afford the cost of the book and I wouldn't use the other patterns.
Much appreciated
Thanks Vicki

I'm sorry I cannot do that. We don't sell patterns in PDF Format. It's part of our book and we don't have the authorization to do that. I'm sorry. Our publisher carries that permission.
