Crochet Spider Throw

Introducing the playful and kid-friendly blanket called Spiderweb Blanket from Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts.

This is a 12-point ripple afghan coloured to appear like a spiderweb, with an added overlay afterwards to create the lines that jet out from the center.

This afghan is 55" diameter and has 3 sections of blue, 3 sections of red with white rounds to separate them to create the illusion of a web. Then, top off with finishing touches. This is using the new Bernat Blanket Brights Yarn. It is vibrant and super soft. These would make lovely gifts for someone you love.

Get hooked up with details and begin your project when you are ready!

    Mikey,

Thank you for this pattern. I would like to get a printed copy of the diagram you kept referring to in the video. Is there somewhere I can go to and print it? Thanks

Karen, I have submitted a request to see if they can bring that chart back as a download. No promises but I will update this page if I can get my hands on it. I updated the link to go back to Yarnspirations.com as the pattern is more professionally presented there as it was only on JOANN.com for a limited time.

I too am looking for the diagram and it's no longer available. Is there someplace we can get it? I can probably capture the image on my phone and print it that way but it's not as good as an actual diagram. Thanks for any help you can provide Mikey.

I have actually requested this twice from Yarnspirations. I haven't been able to get my hands on it. It was a JOANN pattern initially. I'm sorry. I don't have it to post it at this time.

Well I took a snapshot from your video and made one for a little boy. Thank you so much Mikey for your wonderful tutorials and explanations. I used black in place of the white and it looked awesome.

Hello! I love this pattern so much and want to make one similar for a friend of mine for Halloween using just black-and-white. My question is she doesn’t want the bigger thicker yarn she would rather have a thinner yarn such as a worsened size for yarn do you think that it would look OK in that size yarn mainly the final web process you do at the end? Thanks

I think if you change the yarn, you can get away with the changes it creates. If you are concerned about the web not being so bold, you could double strand the chain when applying it to give it more lift.

I also am making using worsted weight yarn. Thought, just increasing rounds as had been would let me keep going to make big enough.
Seemed to be working ...but my rows after row 16, seem to be puckering more. I was increasing the next color band (3 rows) by an additional stitch (up/down), next band by additional stitch. Do you think I should increase,by 2 stitches?
I get 1/2 of star/blanket to be fairly flat, but other half puckering/ curling. Help.

I think your assumption to try increasing by 2 stitches will help it sit back down. Least you can see there is a problem by the puckering.
