Crochet Thermal Stitch Dishcloth

The Crochet Thermal Stitch Dishcloth is a great quick example of how to do this double thickness crochet stitch. My friend Megan showed me how to do this stitch and I was so inspired by it.

The video tutorial demonstrates how to do this stitch as a single crochet which includes finishing the project. In the second half of the tutorial, I restarted and did it as a double crochet thermal stitch. Both examples show how to start and finish a project.

See the free downloadable pattern that I have written which includes the photography below.

Thank you! This will be perfect for a bathroom rug I’ve been wanting to make. It will give it some thickness for comfort, but, hopefully, still be thin enough for the door to open over it. I also want to test it out in self-striping yarn like Mandala, which will help with the thickness, too.

I use the thermal single crochet stitch when making Potholders and table runners/trivets/handle covers, using 100% cotton. In the video you said you tried to do different colors on each side...I did one by changing colors each row leaving a fringe on the sides rather than weaving all the ends in. I tried using multiple balls of yarn but it really didn't work well for me. Hope this helps...
