The Crochet Peaches and Creme Popcorn Tote is a great little bag to make. Speaking bluntly, it didn't take me long to make. A couple of movies of Harry Potter back to back and I had the 13 squares done, including weaving in the ends.
Be sure with this project to use 100% cotton, regardless of the brand.
I didn't have Peaches and Creme yarn but I did have Lily Sugar'n Cream yarn, I used just 5 balls of the 70.9 g / 2.5 oz, 109 m / 120 yds. I was strategic in the colour play of making the 1 bottom square the same colour as the handles and the single crochet join. Here is the colour breakdown:
- Overcast - 1 Bottom Square, 2 Handles and the Single Crochet Joining (gray)
- Hot Blue - 3 Squares
- Teal - 3 Squares
- Lt Blue - 3 Squares
- Beach Glass - 3 Squares
I could technically get 4 squares of each ball.

The Caron Cotton Cakes Granny Tote was referenced in the tutorial as the shaping of bags like the Popcorn Square is a common thing within bag construction of granny squares. Usually, bags like this have 13 squares and the assembly process is exactly the same in the layout. However, what may be different is how to attach them which may include sewing or crocheting them together.
Both the popcorn version and this bag are joined with single crochet in the back loop only. I prefer to whip stitch if you were asking me directly. I haven't filmed the bags with this square as it's a solid single crochet granny square.

oh Mikey. So glad I found you. My urge to crochet has been on stall and at my age I have to leave projects just sit. You are so easy to understand and work with. Thanks for all you do.
