Yarnspirations introduced OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Certification over 8 years ago to some of their yarn products. Like you, the people behind the scenes have real families, including babies and small children. A standard of testing through an independent lab was introduced, especially the baby yarns itself.
Since Red Heart Yarns went for sale and Spinrite Yarns, aka Yarnspirations, acquired the business, some Red Heart products, including Red Heart Super Saver and Red Heart Comfort yarn, are now being added to this.

The OEKO-TEX Standards help the yarn industry, as fibres are made throughout the world. Standard testing ensures that select products are tested to ensure the origin of the fibres meets the standards.
As of 2022, Yarnspirations is actively adding more yarns for this standard to ensure the safety of its users, aka you and I.
You will see this logo on select products and know what it means. Each product is tested for 350 harmful substances that include harmful levels of irritants, allergens and carcinogens. Things like heavy metals, formaldehyde, pesticides and more are looked for and the system of testing is updated once a year.
Shop confidently by turning the ball over and looking for the testing logo. For the products where the testing is done, you will also find this information on Yarnspirations.com.
You can wrap your baby with love and use products with confidence.
