Valuable Insider Tips for Afghan Making
Entrelac Crochet has been one of the hardest elements for me to understand with Crochet. I have seen this concept in books since I was 14 years old and tried several times but always ended up frustrated and confused. I have even tried to follow video tutorials by others and I still didn't get it. Its a concept I have avoided because I just couldn't get it.
While on The Crochet Cruise Cruises, two fabulous ladies, Barbara and Diane, showed me the concept. It took me an hour to grasp but I really needed someone in person to show me and answer questions as I went along. It was probably one of the best hours of 2014 to date.
I have filmed a 12 Minute Video that is available in the Read More Section below that goes over the tips I have learned. Video explanations will show you key concepts to understanding the principles of this stitch work.

Hi M
I would also like to do a bigger block than with the 7 stitches as a previous lady had asked for. Have you a chance to revisit the 12 stitches blocks for a king size bed?.
Mikey says
You can do that. The 7 sts makes for a 5 stitch block. A 12 sts block, you need to start with 14 sts. You will need an official tunisian hook/afghan hook. This will give you 12 sts wide by 12 rows tall.

I have a question in regards to the reverse side (not the pin side 😉 ) Of the entrelac blocks. I’ve noticed that some blocks have pronounced bumps. (?)Is this because my tension/gauge is off? Will it work itself out after a wash/blocking? And if not is there a way to correct it or is this normal?
Mikey says
The bumps are the normal look of knitting on the wrong side. There's nothing wrong with it, it's the nature of the beast. - Michael
