When Mikey crocheted the Beachy Keen Cover-Up, I thought it would be fun to crochet a matching tote bag. I used the same Bernat Maker Home Dec yarn in Aqua. Get the Crochet Beachy Keen Tote Bag pattern.

Hi. I just started to make this bag. Is there an error in the pattern? For the body section, in round 1, it says to "dc in next stitch, ch1" and repeat. Shouldn't we be skipping a stitch? It says to skip 1 at the beginning of the instructions for round 1, but the skip 1 stitch isn't in between the *'s.
Marina King says
the skip at the beginning is because they are counting the ch 4 as a stitch so you wouldn't stitch in that same one. That being said, I've only made the top but I think you're right you would be skipping a stitch I will fix it, thanks.

Great morning! I just want to let you know that I absolutely LOVE this pattern. I had been looking for a pattern for a tote bag for a few months. I started one and pulled it out because it was going to be too big. I also considered other shapes, however it would have been time consuming. So I decided on this pattern. Thus far I have made 3 totes in the past 2 weeks. I just finished the 3rd. It works up so quick and easy. I can't thank you enough for this marvelous thing. ***I need to make 2 more. (I'm started the 4th now.) These are going to be a gift for my bridesmaids, as I am getting married spring 2020*** I'm also going to crochet their initials & a single heart and have them sewn onto the bags along with a lining that has a recipe for friendship. Thank you for being a part of my special day. Note: variations that I made...I used 2 strands of yarn - 1 cotton and 1 acrylic. I used a size "K" hook. I did a chain 75 for the straps. So very excited. Thank you again.
