The Crochet Fat Cat Stuffies is a free pattern and is one of the newest patterns available on Yarnspirations.
It uses Bernat Baby Crushed Velvet and Bernat Baby Velvet Yarn. The cat is so soft; it's just a wonderful crochet pattern to do.
The body is larger than you might imagine and I did improvise a bit making the legs, arms and tail longer. I also made the eyes the same instructions as the body from rounds 1 - 4 using the solid blue and used safety eyes instead.

Crochet Unicorn Stuffie
The Crochet Unicorn Stuffie is a new friend to the Fat Cat Stuffies. Shaped almost the same and is the same size. There are similar elements to the pattern but also additional pattern add on like clover hoofs, curly hair aka mane, and of course, the iconic horn.
Can't you just see this being gifted to a loved one or just in your own home for a bit of cheery decor?

Crochet Pig Stuffie Pattern
The third friend of the Fat Cat is the Crochet Pig Stuffie. I will call him Hammy and love him forever and ever.
Like the Fat Cat and Unicorn, the pattern is the same until the 4" in the middle are complete. Then, it takes a different course of action with a taller head line.
The hoofs are the same as the unicorn and there is a little wiggly tail at the back too!
It's pretty sickening adorable!

I couldn’t figure out what I was doing wrong until I looked at the video again. Turns out the written pattern is written wrong starting with the 6th, 8th, 11th, 14th, and 17th. Is anyone else noticing this too? Example: 6th round says *1 sc in each of next 2 sc. 2 sc in next sc. 1sc in next 2 sc repeat from *. But the video says after the first increase 4 sc in the next 4 sc.....

I've done so many hats I didn't honestly pay attention to the written pattern, I mostly just listened and worked, mind you, My cat ended up huge. there are some patterns that break up the stretch of non-increases in a pattern so that you don't end up with a ridged line in whatever the project is. If you're getting the right shape like many of the others that have completed theirs so far, Keep going with whatever method is working for you.

YUP me too !!! I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing this....I was foloowing the pattern up to row 11 and then listened to the video and it was totally off for 6, 8, and 11....then I stopped....now I have to frog it all I guess
Mikey says
I guess I don't understand. I'm sorry I have screwed this up for you. I'm sorry.
Michelle hughes says
Not you Mikey, you know what your doing, just I don't lol I think I get what you are saying now tho, you are carrrying your end stitches over to the start of the first stitches, brings you back to the 4sc at the start and you are saying 8 sc as the 4 at the end and the 4 for the beginning. it was throwing me off as I was hearing 8 but wasn't reading 8 but the 4 end + 4 start is the 8....see told ya I was confused.

Kinda wished it would have not been so big! I thought it would be about 8-10 in.tall!
Marina King says
mine is ending up a lot bigger, if you wish it smaller you could try a smaller hook and yarn, One of the cats I've seen was made with the, Feels Like Butter yarn and it was much smaller. Try one in a sport weight, there options to make it smaller.
Amy says
Will Bernstein Velvet stripes work?
Marina King says
You can use pretty much any yarn, you may just have to adjust the hook size depending on the weight of it.
