Crochet Peaks & Valleys Wave Blanket

Using the new Bernat Colorwhirl yarn, you can create these thick Peaks & Valleys Stitch Wave Blanket.

This pattern could technically be used for any size hook or yarn, as long as they complement each other. The stitching in the back loop every other row creates a textured ridge. The yarn is playful, soft and unique.

This latest "Wave" pattern is gorgeous! I'm determined to conquer my failure fear of the Wave pattern. I'm also very grateful there a video tutorial to assist me with the "Turns" (always where I mess up.) Is there a size guide, I haven't played the entire video (where I'll bet there's a notation regarding sizing). I would love to make a twin size afghan. Thank you for creating yet another beauty!

Pulling out calculator now to figure that out. We know the width of the existing blanket and know the repeat stitch counts. Be back shortly.

Each Chevron = 8" wide and that is a multiple of 16 sts. Twin size beds are 39" x 75" without drape. So add more multiples of you want it to fall over the mattress.

To get 40" wide do 5 multiples of 16 sts. At the end of the chain, add 3 sts at the end.

If you want drape, the width should be 60". Do 8 multiples of 16 sts, add 3 sts at the end.

I'm not really sure. I haven't done it myself to give accurate information on that. I'm sorry.

    Hi Mikey,
Can I use a different yarn and hook for the "Peaks and Valleys" wave blanket?

Absolutely. Make sure the yarn compliments the hook size.
