Crochet Study of Texture Poncho
There was interest in having the Study of Texture original afghan converted to a shawl. So I put my thinking cap on and created a shawl. This ended up morphing into a demand to have the Study of Texture Poncho. Cora Morrison, a fellow crocheter, took up the challenge to create one.
With collaboration, Cora re-wrote the instructions for the Crochet Study of Texture Poncho as a one-piece unit. You could have done two shawls and sewed them together. She wanted a one-piece unit instead.
Cora spent several weeks perfecting the pattern to the best of our ability to match my original intention. She and I worked together to do our best to correct as much as we saw. So if you find an error, it's not for a lack of trying.
Cora used 5 balls of Bernat POP yarn. Using 5 mm / H Hook.

New revision of this pattern has been provided today.
Caroline says
Great! Thank you for always helping us.
Rosemary Braun says
There definitely is a problem with Row 24.
Mikey, The Crochet Crowd says
I had the guest designer go through Row 24. She's been helping people behind the scenes. She's been providing a rough draft of where the stitches go. So she's helped Daniel provide a diagram to show where they are going. It seems to be solving the issues for this row. See new revision of this pattern that i have posted. The only revision is the diagram added.

I love this pattern and was doing great until Row 24. I don’t understand at all what to do with the first statement to “DC right over the chain 3 from row 23 capturing it underneath the 3 dc sts”. DC where? In all of the first 3 dcbp from row 23? How is the chain captured underneath? Also, is there not another DC in the corner space after the chain 3? Then, there are shells. I did the study of texture Afghan and checked that video for help, but it’s different from this description—there are no shells in the row after the dcbp row. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Can you explain this row 24. I am also not understanding.
Jeannette Mendoza says
I am not sure if my previous request has gone through for assistance, so, please excuse me if this is duplicate. I am also stuck on row 24. Can I get some clarification on this row? I appreciate any and all help. BTW< I am enjoying this pattern, very engaging.

I also do not understand what to do here and the new pattern hasn’t helped. I’ve tried watching the video for the blanket but that’s different in this area. I was cruising right along until I got here. I don’t understand what to do. Is there a video for this?
