There have been several requests since 2021 to have this crochet pocket blanket without the pocket, as the stitching resembles wicker. This is the Crochet Wicker Stitch Blanket.
To change the pattern, it required calibration and reimagination to calculate the stitch multiples and to execute the design. Sometimes, omitting details is not enough, as was the case here. A new design had to be created.

With A, chain 139. (Stitch multiple is 4 chains + 3)
1st row: 1 sc 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn. 138 sc.
2nd row: RS. Ch 2 (counts as first dc). Sk next sc. 2 dc in next 2 sc. *Sk next 2 sc. 2 dc in next 2 sc. Rep from * across. Sk next sc. 1 dc in last sc. Turn. 138 dc.
3rd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each dc across. Turn. 138 sc.
TIP: We will be doing groups of 4 dc in between the 2nd and 3rd post, 2 rows below. See the diagram attached for clarification.
4th row: Ch 2. 4 dc in between the 2nd and 3rd post of the group of 4 dc below. *Sk to the next group of 4 dc 2 rows below and place 4 dc between the 2nd and 3rd post. Rep from * across. 1 dc in last sc. Turn. 138 dc.
5th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each dc across. Turn. 138 sc.
6th row: Ch 2. 4 dc in between the 2nd and 3rd post of the group of 4 dc below. *Sk to the next group of 4 dc 2 rows below and place 4 dc between the 2nd and 3rd post. Rep from * across. 1 dc in last sc. Turn. 138 dc.
Rep the 5th and 6th row until 62.5” long, then rep the 5th row. Fasten off.
