Designed with speed and comfort in mind, the New Leaf Crochet Cotton Baby Blanket is born. It uses Caron Cotton Cakes yarn and a simple repeating stitch until you get closer to the border.

I created the leaf stitch combination in the Study of the Journey Afghan blanket. I have linked it below. It looks like an embossed stitch.

This is a great pattern! Is there some kind of mathematical formula to determine how much “more” yarn I should purchase if I want to make this bigger? Say 48 x 48, or 60 x 60 inches? I am thinking of a gift for a retired priest.

That's a million dollar question. I wish I knew this answer as I would be a very happy person to know this. I'm unsure how that is determined without actually doing it in person to know for sure.
