Fall 2026 rings in a new brand from Red Heart: Red Heart All In One Star Gaze yarn. A new yarn product that creates an automatic star within a circle before going to a square.
Best of all, this yarn is also compatible with Red Heart All In One Flower Power and the original Red Heart All In One Granny Square yarn. The size of the square is 6" x 6" and you can mix and match the brands together to explore your own creativity.
To a non-crocheter, they just see random colors, but to us, as crocheters, we see potential — the stars shining bright with creative joy.
Yarnspirations has provided coloring that can be mixed with other staple brands of Red Heart Super Saver. So you can make regular granny squares and mix them into the projects as shown in the free patterns below.

Written Instructions & Crochet Diagram
On the ball band, the written instructions and crochet diagram are provided in both English and French. Patterns by Yarnspirations also include written instructions and the same crochet diagram to follow when making the project they offer.
As a tip, I have a hard time reading small instructions. I snap a photo with my phone and send it to my printer to print a large copy of the instructions. But if you go to any one of the free patterns below, you can get a PDF of the same instructions that are written with the pattern.
The Purpose of All In One Yarns
This yarn serves two major purposes for crocheters.
- People who get cranky with weaving in tail ends for granny square yarns save the extra work it will take. The yarn transitions to the correct colour at the exact right time to continue on.
- It teaches new crocheters to pay attention and understand what gauge is. Many new crocheters don't understand gauge and go on to make wearables without consideration, resulting in items that don't fit properly.
What Is Crochet Gauge?
It's the number of stitches within a specific distance. All crochet projects have this information; whether a designer provides it is another question.
Every person in the world crochets to their own tension. We need to change our hook sizes to match what the original designer intended. For wearables, it's highly critical. I know firsthand that the hook size suggested for Red Heart All In One Star Gaze won't work for me. I'm too loose, and I need a smaller crochet hook.

Another All In One Yarn To Look At
Yarnspirations, the makers of the All In One Yarns, has yarns in Bernat, Red Heart, and Caron. Summer 2026, they released Caron All In One Cotton Grannies yarn. The squares shown below are only 2" x 2" to allow more flexibility in getting closer to human sizes for clothing.

Red Heart All In One Star Gaze is 100% acrylic. Suggested use of a 5.5 mm / I/9 crochet hook, but your personal gauge matters the most.
It makes a 6" x 6" square and can be grouped with other All In One yarns by Red Heart.
