Try this simple Crochet Braided hat with ear flaps and braids. The yarn is bulky and has wool for warmth. Due to the bulky yarn, this pattern hooks up really quickly. Pattern was updated on March 28, 2025.

The yarn used was Schachenmayr Boston Yarn, part of the My Mountain series of yarns.

This yarn has been discontinued. Use #5 Chunky Weight Yarn when doing this pattern.

So is the stitch count on the written pattern wrong? I couldn't find any corrections anywhere. Mikey says round 2 should be 16 stitches but the written pattern says 18. Halp!!!

I agree. The pattern has to be wrong.

I haven't made this one myself, where are you seeing the mistake?
