Crochet a beautiful set for an easy baby jacket and a teddy bear hat. Great for new crocheters who want to expand their skills. With the tutorials provided, I can show you how to do this.
Crochet this pattern for charity and also for the new family members in your life... introducing the newborn to 12-month sizes for a Crochet Easy Baby Jacket.
This is one of the simplest designs for baby jackets. The top (yoke) starts simply. Then, after a few rows, you fold it uniquely to make the top section. This is demonstrated in the tutorial. Then, you crochet the rest of the jacket. Once the main section is done, you go and crochet the sleeves. Add a front border to both sides of the opening to make it look finished. Then add 1 button at the top.
Try Another Easy Sweater
For myself, filming this didn't take long. This pattern with using the stitchwork, you could wip off several jackets for charity fairly quickly. The pattern is sized for newborn, 3 months and 6 - 12 months. The tutorial follows the newborn size but you can easily substitute the information that is shared in the tutorial by cross-referencing the pattern.
If you were to ever try a baby jacket, I would highly recommend this one as a starter.

I have crocheted for 15 years and never felt comfortable enough to actually make a baby jacket!! This video is AMAZING and I have now made TWO of these sweaters one the 3 month size and one the newborn. This was the best video I have ever seen!! I wish you guys did one for the matching hat!! Thank you so much for all your help!

I made the easy baby jacket in newborn and love it! The directions and tutorial were great . I haven’t crocheted in thirty years but am now hooked. I wanted to make the 12 month size easy baby jacket and do it in two colors like a color block. I want to use college colors of the parents. With that in mind do you think there is a natural place to change color in the directions? Also would I be able to add a second button to the jacket and have it hang correctly. I m not sure if I will change color on the front placard of the jacket or just pick one color to crochet. I’d appreciate any of your thoughts and expertise. Thank you.

Do the colour changing as you proceed from the top Yoke to the body.
