Learn how to Crochet Lush Life Blanket using one of the most popular yarns today, Bernat Blanket Yarn.
This blanket plays with the concept of simply crocheting double crochets and front post trebles (fptr). The FPTR's are easy to manage and create the luscious textures and ultra-softness, in this already super plush yarn. It's like hugging a cloud.
Cuddle up on the couch or put on the chick flick and cry into a bowl of popcorn. This blanket is fabulous. The video tutorial below is available to show you the steps. It's really easy. I would even guess beginners could master this one.

This is a similar design that is using the same yarn and stitch but making it into a checkerboard.

Love this blanket and brilliant instructions I worked a moss stitch border on mine as I am not great at keeping straight side edges but thrilled with the end result. I have a photo but can't find how to upload it here

Mikey, on Row 2, the single crochet rows, are you going under both loops or in the back loop? I can't tell on the video.
Thank you,

Mikey, can you please demonstrate how to make the alternating squares on this blanket? I understand what to do up until then. Also, how do you determine the amount of yarn needed when making a bigger blanket.
Mikey says
THere are no squares on this pattern. It's a straight up crochet blanket. It's just a colour change. I think the staging gives the illusion it's a square motif but it's not. As far as making it bigger beyond the designer's recommendation is just a guess. There's never a straight solution without someone doing it first to pick up knowledge from them.

Hi Mikey - I have watched and rewatched this video as well as your others and still cannot see how you change colors. Are you crocheting individual squares and then joining or how? The foundation chain I imagine is one color and then what. I appreciate all that you can offer/suggest.
Thanks

Mikey says
It's just changing the colours, but not blocks or individual squares. After the said amount of rows, you simply change the colour. The picture gives the illusion of being blocks but it's not.
gary says
Ahhh. That makes sense if I look closer. Question - could one do blocks and then join ( if so what stich might you use) or would this ruin the integrity of the blanket and or is just too difficult/time consuming.
Thanks
