Marly Bird is hosting My First Knit Sweater Knit Along. This was presented in 2019, and the tutorials and patterns are still available. I have linked the tutorials below. This is the My First Knit Sweater Summer Vest pattern.
This pattern uses two balls at the same time to create a wonderfully marled looking sweater. In speaking with Marly earlier, I asked, "Can a new knitter do this?"
Marly states that even a new knitter could attempt this sweater as the stitches are basic levels. If you are interested in learning to knit or maybe want to try and do this sweater, you can sign up.

From what I have seen it looks like a sleeveless vest. It's Marly Bird's KAL she may be better able to answer you though.

The picture of the yarn looks like it has cuffs. Don't know how it could be sleeveless; however, I have never seen a vest with sleeves.

It's been more than a 1/2 century since I tried knitting (as a teen) and wasn't very successful--simple rectangular scarf. But if absolute beginners could manage this KAL, perhaps it's time to challenge myself with something totally new; it would certainly keep my mind focused. I only took up my crochet hook for the first time 10 yrs ago now, and I am TOTALLY "hooked"! I absolutely love TCC & Mikey's 'gang.' Looking forward to the attempt! 😉
