The yarn format allows light to bounce off the luster regions, while the regular chenille yarn in between mutes it.
Strength & Non-Slip
A plus benefit for me, and knowing this behind the scenes, is that 100% luster-type yarn tends to worm because it's slippery. This allows the shine to pop through, while the next inch is the classic Bernat Blanket chenille that locks onto itself, as it's not slippery. You have the best of two worlds within one ball.
The yarn is a bit heavier, with an added luster appearance, and therefore the balls, yardage-wise, are shorter, but the weight of 300 grams / 10.5 ounces is maintained.
Same Gauge You Can Trust
This version and the regular Bernat Blanket have the same gauge; this means you could mix and match the brands together for your own color and texture appeal.
