What To Do With Caron Baby Cakes
Caron Yarns has just launched a brand new yarn line exclusively at Michaels Stores called Caron Baby Cakes. It’s a spin off, due to popular demand, from the Original Caron Cakes. Crocheters and knitters requested Caron Cakes be in non-wool materials, especially for baby, so they have removed the wool and substituted with nylon. So this yarn is 82% Acrylic and 18% Nylon.

Caron Baby Cakes are not only different materials of Caron Cakes but are also coloured with beautiful hues of colour transformations within a ball. Each ball colour has been carefully decided based on today’s trending colours and mother’s personal choices when it comes to baby projects.
Myself, I got to see a few yarn swatches of this yarn myself. I got to feel the yarn. I think babies and mothers alike with LOVE this yarn choice for a baby blanket.

I purchased this yarn and loved it, only to find out its no longer available. PLEASE help us to get it back, I know there are many disappointed fans just like myself,
Afternoon Charlotte. As you know, I don’t make this yarn and Michaels makes the decision on yarn that appears in their stores. I do know, this yarn is scheduled for a reappearance late this Spring back at Michaels for a limited time.
Thank you for this info. I will be sure to watch for it
i HAVE FOUND numerous times yarn at Amazon when I have run out. It’s there!
Mikey whats up with the limited time and supply of the baby cakes and cotton cakes? All the stores are on clearance and sold out and no longer available online! Can we unite again and demand they bring them back like the Caron Cakes? What a tease! So disappointed as I fell in love with both these new yarns!
I bought this in Ohio yesterday and worked on a baby blanket on the way home to Canada thinking I will pick more up at Michael’s here. Checked today and they told me they don’t carry it. So disappointing. We have a store here called Len’s Mills but they were closed.
Mikey, do you think they will have it in Hawksville or Kitchener?
Help! I bought two cakes when I first saw this not knowing what for do with it. Later decided to do a blanket with it using the Tiles design on here. But I can’t find more to finish the project t. I need two more cakes and my local Michaels isn’t getting more. Nor is it available online. Hoping I don’t have to frog the whole project and make something smaller because I really like how the blanket is looking. I just can’t seem to find the ballerina color anywhere. :(. Any ideas what are appropriated, even if it’s a “you could is around the edges” type thought to finish the blanket. Every design I’ve thought of just seems wonky to me.
Have the same problem. Bought three that were on clearance (should have been a clue) for 2.49/buy two get one free. Have a beautiful crocheted blanket almost done and it is now obvious I’ll need four. Cannot find another cake and Michaels just says they are not “currently” in stock. Does that mean they will be eventually?
While on vacation in Canada, I stopped at Michaels in Brossard twice last week. They did not have Caron Baby Cake yarn. When I got back to NY, I tried to order on line, but it is an “In store only” item. I hope I can find it in a NY Michaels.
Mikey, can you please have a word with Micheals and ask them to open a few stores within Australia, that will offer shipping within Australia. Us poor Aussies are missing out soooo BADLY! Please please!
Can you please tell me when these will be available in Australia? Thankbyou Julie
What do you search under to find the free baby blanket crochet pattern? I’ve tried everything I can think of and nothing comes up.
We have baby blankets. Just enter in Baby Blankets in the search box.
Maybe I missed it but I still don’t see anything that tells you what you could make with the yarn! lol I’m guessing anything for baby?
When will these be available in the uk. And what price please
That’s something I wouldn’t be told or know anything about. You can contact Caron Yarns through Yarnspirations.com to inquire if you wish.
I would like to know how to post a picture of my crochet project to your Facebook page. Cannot figure out how to do this.
Janice, On The Crochet Crowd FB page find the box to write a post (usually somewhere near the top) and at the top of the box there is a photo/video button. Click that and it will walk you through adding a picture. Good luck!
Is the pattern available for the baby blanket pictured about using Caron baby cakes?
