Crochet Sashay Shawls

Learn to crochet Sashay Shawls. It's a lot easier than it looks. It's a matter of understanding the slip stitching and what to look for when doing so.

I have provided a step by step tutorial on getting started.

Yarnspirations Patterns
Free Pattern: Patons Pirouette Shawl (can also use Red Heart Sashay)

There is a total of 8 rows. Rows 1 - 6, you will skip every other top loop. This will cause the row to double itself as it means there will be 2 loops on the bottom for every 1 loop on top. This technique is what is creating the drape.

Rows 7 & 8, you will not skip any loops on the top. This will prevent the shawl from getting any wider and will suddenly start to grow straight down.

You will need up to 4 balls of Sashay for the Adult Version of this. Up to 3 balls of Mini Sashay.

Hmm... great video, and pattern. As a larger, plus size lady, I guess that if I wanted to make it larger width wise I would just start with more than two stitches at the beginning... I will have to give this a try and play around with it a bit.

Bang On! Generally, I stay away from doing anything with this type of yarn. It has been frustrating, aggravating, etc.. Having said that, after watching your video and what can be done with this yarn, I'm ready to sashay my way over to the craft store in the morning to load up on yarn to make myself a frilly, beautiful shawl. Thank you for your love and passion in this art form. It is very much appreciated.

Love this! I am looking forward to watching your video, but I was wondering if there was also a written pattern? I like to follow along with the written pattern when watching your videos 🙂 I can't wait to make one of these!

Like heather, I also learn by following the video with a written pattern. Is there one and I'm just not seeing it? Thanks!!!
