It's no secret I prefer hats to be completed in the round, new, broken, with a flat panel, and sewn together. Using the brand new Caron Simply Me Lustre yarn, this crochet beret is a truly fantastic headpiece. This is the Crochet Luster Adult Beret pattern.
This beret was adapted from Edie Eckman's original design, the Track Stitch Crochet Beret. Initially done as a flat panel. I completely re-wrote the pattern from top to bottom, honouring Edie's original design of having an adult small and adult large size available. With the yarn originally designed nearly 10 years ago, it's time to revive something old, made new again.
In the world of crochet, this is called adapting an existing design without losing the original designer's train of thought or altering the styling.
