Spring rolled back around, and again, another year of stitching along for crocheters to test their skills. Always expanding and growing new skills along the way. Of course, JOANN started us off with the first stitch along.
Each project we did is linked below.
JOANN Spring Stitch Along 2022
The crochet waterfall stitch was trending this year and many crocheters tried the stitching concept for the first time. This was called the Geometry Crochet Blanket. Different levels of the waterfall stitching creates the shapes you see.
We focused on Caron One Pound and Caron Jumbo yarn for this blanket.
Spring Stitch Along
Jeanne led calming Comfort Crochet Afghan in exploring stitching textures with her easy-to-follow concept. Jeanne tends to love blue colours and stitches her way into finding personal healing and comfort.
We focused on Caron One Pound and Caron Jumbo yarn.
Study of Possibilities Stitch Along
It was a challenge to design this Study of Crochet Possibilities backwards. In forming the shape using the octagons, the centre is made backwards from the ring that is formed and goes back to the centre. It turns the stitches in a way that is exciting.
I focused on Caron One Pound yarn for this example.
Timeless Tunisian Panels Stitch Along
We focused on Tunisian skills over spring for this amazing skill set. The Timeless Tunisian Panel Blanket was completed by so many people. Awesome colours where the sky is the limit. Several people started to Tunisian for the first time.
You can use your Red Heart Super Saver for this example.
Summer Stitch Along 2022
For the summer 2022, I wanted to explore more textured stitches and used Red Heart Super Saver Ombre yarn as a choice option. Just letting the colours work itself out into the really neat textured example. This was the Study of Ombre Afghan.
Crochet Mixed Bag of Tricks
Mid-summer came along and this bag was released by Yarnspirations. It was a smaller project and really captured my interest. This was the Crochet Mixed Bag of Tricks Stitch Along. Something that is a quick and easy hold-over until the fall.
A great choice for Red Heart Super Saver yarn.
Re-Inventing Temperature Blankets
Crochet Temperature Blankets have a tendency to be too big and non-useful. This was using 4 Months of Temperatures for A Blanket. Starting labour day, taking the temperatures daily or looking at the previous year. You can do a nice size through using real temperatures.
The darker colour was the beginning of September and the white (signifying snow) finished this off just before Christmas. The lovely idea is that you can get temperatures in the past and do someone's birth year and choosing the colours you want to play with, you can create a unique, one-of-a-kind blanket.
What I hadn't realized is that the yellow temperature you see in the blanket is not very long in a season as the weather seems to turn quickly.
I used Caron One Pound for this version.
Fall JOANN Stitch Along 2022
JOANN for this year also took the same avenue for Fall and decided to do smaller projects again. It was the goal to teach new crocheters how to stitch, and we used this video tutorial to demonstrate the absolute beginning of crochet.
I used Bernat Blanket Extra Thick for this basket. You can download the pattern here.
Fall Stitch Along 2022
The Crochet Aran Toggle Wrap was decided by Yarnspirations to do something wearable. This was the Crochet Aran Toggle Wrap. This was a multi-part series and, in person, this looks incredible.
You can use your Red Heart Super Saver for this version.
Snow Days and Hot Chocolate Blanket Stitch Along
Leading into the festive season, there was an opportunity to design something for winter with a small nod to the holidays. There was a request from a crocheter to do a winter idea for a blanket and by-pass Christmas. This was a fun design. This is the Crochet Snow Days and Hot Chocolate Blanket.
I focused on Caron One Pound for this example.
Crochet Inspired by Joy Stitch Along
Jeanne finished our year off with the Inspired by Joy Crochet Blanket. We focused on Caron One Pound and Caron Jumbo yarn.
