Crochet Healing Stitches II Afghan
The Crochet Healing Stitches II Afghan is the sister blanket to the Healing Stitches Square Afghan. This time, I created an FTM, from the middle rectangle-shaped blanket with lots of different colours, definitely outside my comfort zone.
Last month, I found so much joy in crochet and blending different stitch combinations, that I wanted to keep going so I knew a rectangle was just what was needed next. There are just as many magical healing stitches in this one as in the original. Also, I'm not very good at choosing colours, but I have found some really good inspiration by using websites with colour palettes. I enjoy sites like Color Palette Ideas that uses photographs as colour inspirations.

I am trying to do this pattern and am having trouble right away. Round 4. The [ ] section. I was in a severe car accident 06/23 and having to relearn somethings but am confused when it says1dcfparound DC 2 rounds below. Do you have video tutorials that could be looked at?

This blanket hasn't been video taped. It means that you are going to do a double crochet front post around the double crochet that is 2 rows below. So you are reaching down 2 rows.

Am so glad I am not the only one who has trouble on row 30. I to have 60 dc rather than 59. If I am doing something wrong I would love to be corrected. But if it is a flaw in the instructions it should be corrected or all will agonize over it. A graph would be so helpful. With much praise for you and your hard work in putting the crochet crowd together. I have done several of your stitch alongs and look forward to doing many more.

Are you placing 1 dc right after and right before each corner? If you are, then it has to be an odd number. At this point in the afghan, faking by by adding or subtracting a stitch as needed will never be noticed.

I LOVE this! I love the story behind it as well. I’ve been considering doing a type of temperature blanket (weekly rather than daily and using an ombré of one or two colors instead of how they typically use the rainbow. Having an issue with row 21, if I do 1 dc in each of next 2 stitches and 3 dc in the ch 1 space if v stitch, I'm coming out with 148 stitches and not the 92 the pattern says. Am I misreading the pattern? Thank you f ok r your help.

You only do 2 dc right before and after the corner. The repeat is [3 dc in next ch 1 sp of V-st] until 3 sts before the corner. You don't dc in the dc's of the V-st.
So, 28 V-st, x 3 dc = 84 + 4 dc in corner + 2 dc right after corner + 2 dc right before corner = 92 dc total. 🙂

I am crocheting this pattern. Having trouble with the count on row 30. End up with one too many double crochets. Left one out to make count right. Next row (31) was right. Now row 32 is coming out one too many double crochets again! Help!

hmm, weird that if you leave a stitch out to make the count right, that it's wrong 2 rounds later. I guess on round 32, leave one out again. Sorry, it's hard to have a specific answer without seeing your whole project. But designs like this are easy to fake it and add a next or decrease one when necessary without doing much frogging!

This is an awesome pattern and I like how mine is looking so far after 10 rounds.
Also, I was wondering something: When I used a hdc to join, it looked a little awkward, but then I just used chs and sl sts to join the rounds and it seems fine, so do you think that joining with sl sts is sufficient for this project? Please let me know what you think.

it makes it easier for working up to the next round, you would work the hdc into the same spot that you would have slip stitched
