Crochet Patriotic Comfort Lap Blanket
I am excited to introduce my Patriotic Comfort Lap Blanket. I crocheted this in response to a call out for red, white and blue lap blanket donations for my local hospice center.
I have had two experiences with hospice so far in my life, first with my dad, then last year with my husband. They are an amazing group and I am happy to give back by sharing a few lap blankets with the people who are in need of comfort. I really enjoy crocheting for charity as it’s so rewarding.
This easy blanket is textured with cross stitches and worked entirely double stranded for the lovely marled effect. I offset the red, white and blue with an off white yarn to give the white yarn a bit of pop. This lap blanket would look great in your favorite color combo and easily resized by to any length and width.

Beautiful design! I’m adding it to my list of patterns for the lap blankets I make for our local charities.
This is a beautiful pattern and the colors and tips were great.i am going to make one but in Afghan size,it will be super warm and soft, thank you for a great idea and pattern.i can’t wait to buy yarns and start.
I love starting new project!
I am excited to make this for a Veteran friend. Was thinking he would benefit from a weighted blanket. What yarn would you recommend with this pattern to make it more weighted…or do you feel your yarn is weighted already?
I feel it’s a dense blanket already, being double stranded.
Love this!! I have been looking for something to make our Veterans for their Christmas bags and here it is. Thank you.
