Dragon Tail
Introducing the crochet Dragon Tail Neckerchief designed by PurpleIguana on Ravelry. It’s a free pattern.
I wanted to get outside of the 4 corners and simple box ideas for patterns and play with a swirling idea. My friend Nikki, turned me onto this pattern.
Pattern Details

I made my version a bit bigger but Purple Iguana’s pattern not only includes words but a rough sketch for the crochet diagram. I appreciated the sketch a lot!

I used one skein of Caron Simply Soft Ombres. The colour was called Teal Zeal. I used a 5 mm, size H crochet hook instead of what the designer asked for.
My button is just for decoration. I have sewed it into position so it just slides over the head. Also, I have gone around the entire neckerchief with single crochet to frame it better. That was a personal preference.
Here are some other pictures of my version to enjoy.

Hi Mikey, when is the next crochet cruise? I want to know before it’s sold out.
The final Crochet Cruises just wrapped up its final voyage. For traveling with The Crochet Crowd, we are moving to a new format called Travel with The Boys. You will find more information of what we have planned in this link. (From our menu it is titled crochet cruises if you should want to visit it again)

I’m in the middle of this right now and it feels like I’m increasing too much on the increase row. Does it really alternate 2dc, 1dc and repeat?
I am a beginner too and love the design but am confused as well since it doesn’t explain and am used to doing turning chain where do I turn? I really am trying to learn new things in crochet but sometimes patterns just accept that you know what is supposed to be done. That can be very frustrating to a beginner.
I finally figured out the problem which was row 3 should have been 1 dc then 2 dc etc… according to the graph. Now my problem is (although am using H hook) the neck seems to be getting smaller circumference wise. Does this widen out later?
I love this. As a somewhat novice hooker, I am doing your magic circle tutorial. Is this the start you used? Also, do you do the turn chain or the no chain turn? I think I am a bit confused because she says 3 dc in first stitch then 1 dc in next but there are 2 stitches left so would you 1 dc in last 2?
I don’t know if that makes sense.
Thanks, Mikey!
You rock!
are you going to do a video for this?
I cannot as it’s a copyright pattern and the design isn’t my own.
Even if he doesn’t do a video, this is super easy. I made one in just a few hours and one skein of Red Heart Super Saver with and H size hook. It is literally nothing but double crochet with increases starting in a magic ring. Hope this helps you!
I love this pattern! So easy. Simple two row repeat so you can work on it while watching tv and it works up super fast! Thanks for sharing this Mikey!
Good Luck! It goes quick!
love it! I’ll have to try this one
