    DOWNLOAD PEI SCARF FREE PATTERN

I wanted to design a scarf for the Prince Edward Island Fibre Festival, where I am taking workshops to learn to knit. This is my Prince Edward Island Scarf Pattern.

Mikey's Crochet Prince Edward Island Scarf Pattern

I don't design with high-end yarn very often or use it to be honest. I had some yarn in my collection from Yarn Less Travelled from Arizona USA and Hedgehog Yarns from Ireland on-hand. I developed a 4 row repeat to make this scarf so I would have it done on time.

The free download has a crochet diagram and also extra tips I did for consideration for the fringe.

With Hedgehog Yarns, begin again at the starting chain with the RS facing up. Hint, 2nd row is the RS. We will be creating a mirrored image of the stitchwork so the two sides look correct when draped down the body.

On the diagram, the gray area is the Hedgehog Yarn side.

2nd row: RS. With Hedgehog Yarn, attach with a sl st to beg st. Ch 1, 1 sc in first st. *Sk next 2 sc, 5 dc in next sc, sk next 2  sc, 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * across. Turn. 11 sets of 5 dc.

6th row: Ch 1, 1 sc in first st. *Sk next 2 chs, 5 dc in next sc, sk next 2  chs, 1 sc in next sc. Rep from * across. Turn. 11 sets of 5 dc.

7th row: Ch 5 (counts as 1 dc and ch 2), *sk next 2 dc, 1 sc in next dc, ch 2, sk next 2 sts, 1 dc in next sc. Rep from * across. Turn.

8th row: Ch 1, 1 sc in first st. *2 sc in next ch-2 sp, 1 sc in next sc, 2 sc in next ch-2 sp, 1 sc in next dc. Rep from * across. Turn.

Rep 5th to 8 rows, 26 more times. Fasten off. This will be approximately 26.5”.

    Fringe

Create a fringe for every other stitch at short end of the scarf.

Cut three 10” strands of yarn in desired colors.

Hold the three strands together and fold at center. Use crochet hook to pull folded center of fringe through edge st of Scarf, then pull ends of fringe through the resulting loop, and pull until tight.

Favour the right side of the scarf with placing the hook from the back to the front. Loop yarn and pull through stitch and loop so the cross over is on the front side of the scarf.

I would love a tutorial but I am also intrigued as to how the Ogo yarn would play out if you could show us.
