Don't let this design scare the daylights out of you because this Crochet Cablework Afghan is really easy if you look at this afghan row by row.

The wonderful and coolest thing about this design, once you start the main pattern after the 1st - 3 rows are done, every other row is just straight single crochet across. This means, one row you need to think and the other row to get back is just a no brainer. The complete design is completed on the front side of the afghan so you can see it come together as your crochet. So if you are making an error, you will see it right away.

So when you look at the diagram below, don't freak out. Take it line by line. The tutorial I have provided is extremely long. I follow you through the entire sheet. Once you get rows 1 - 14 done, you start again at Row 1 and so on. It's not hard.

Crochet Diagrams to Save or Print

Click on the diagrams to be able to download or print. These are what Mikey uses in the tutorial to follow along with. You will notice this diagram is slightly different than the one provided with the original pattern. Mikey's diagram has two repeats of the cable twisting instead of just one in the original pattern. Both diagrams are the same, Mikey's is just extended for educational purposes.

I have a pdf that I would like to have graphed out as an afghan pattern. Can you do that? I am willing to pay to have it done. Thanks

We do not offer those services. If you purchased the pattern, it would be best to reach out to the designer to request a diagram.

Our platform is for educational tutorials. We don’t offer services for sale/hire.

I wish you should make the worksheet a little bit large. They are hard to read. thank you .

The diagram is already in landscape mode on a piece of paper. I really cannot make it much larger as the diagram will not be all on one piece of paper. Do you have a suggestion on how to make it bigger?

Hi Mikey, Love this afghan. I am trying to follow along with the written pattern and for the life of me can't match up those instructions with the video. The video instructions seem much clearer, so nice job there. Would it be possible to get the written version of the instructions from the video? Thanks so much.

As far as I know, I filmed what the pattern was. Why do you think it's different? I know I provided a diagram that is marked up for my teaching purposes that can be downloaded. 🙂

I see the difference in the patterns compared to the video. I was so glad to see that in the video that Mikey didn't go under the fptr to do the 2 skipped ones, he went over top which is much easier. My directions clearly state to go under but that is awkward and time consuming and it pulls the stiches out too much. You can see on the picture that it looks like they went underneath. I did not want to do that so was going to look for a different cable pattern when I found his video, so that saved my project, I am going forth with it,. Thank you. It is a beautiful pattern and will be fun to do now that I watched the video. I got my pattern and yarn kit from Mary Maxim but is the same graph and pattern as on here.

If it can be done and you are okay with the look, just go for it. 🙂 Find your own path. 😀
