2 Crochet Top Stitch Alongs by The Crochet Crowd

Mikey presents two crochet top stitches for March 2026: one beginner level and one a little more advanced, but not much harder, at the easy level of crochet.

Both patterns were selected because no sewing is involved! Both are featuring new yarns, and in fact, the one yarn that the younger woman and man are wearing is the latest Caron Simply Me Luster yarn. The other Cabana Top is available in a new colour, Red Heart Roll With It Melange.

Crochet Mesh Top

The Crochet Mesh Top is a unisex, gender neutral overlay. Totally casual, slap it on over something else, and you are good to go. Using Caron Simply Me Luster yarn.

Sizes are only small and large, as the mesh can stretch. In the tutorial presentation, Mikey is making the large version, which isn't far off from the small version.

You can find the yarn amount for the size on the pattern itself if this type of wearable is something you would like to do. This is a beginner-level pattern.

The male model version hangs lower, but you can decide the right length for you; just know that any changes you make could affect the yarn quantity.

Crochet Cabana Granny Button Up Top

The Crochet Cabana Top features a unique, never-before-seen construction. He didn't think a top could ever be this easy to do. Virtually no sewing as it's usually under the sleeves and down the sides. He's sold on this possibly being a go-to concept.

This top uses the latest 2026 Red Heart Roll With It Melange colours. Sizes from extra small adults to 5 XL. The number of balls required is listed on the pattern you can download now.

For the tutorial version, Mikey will be using the same yarn, but he has leftover balls from previous projects. A bit of this colour, a bit of that. How it turns out is anyone's guess, but it's exciting.

The hardest decision may be deciding which buttons to use. Mikey is making the large version for himself, and the sizing information will be provided in the tutorial as he goes.
