    Crochet Gigi Blanket

Today, I'm introducing my next series of pattern designs, called The Gigi Collection.  First up, the original Gigi Blanket.  This came about as a challenge to use Bernat Super Value and Red Heart Super Saver yarns together in one project.  I thought for a while, then it hit me that if I'm going to combine the two best yarns, then I will combine my two best patterns - The Hugs & Kisses Blanket and the Modern Granny!

The Modern Granny series came about because of my love for (at the time) the new Caron Cakes yarn.  The FTM (from the middle) design seems to work nicely with the long coloring changes of this yarn.  It's a fast and easy design that is fun to play with all kinds of color changes.

It was two years ago when I crocheted the Hugs & Kisses for my newest granddaughter's arrival.  I had no idea that anyone would love this textured blanket like I do and it evolved into many other projects by the request of other crocheters.  You can see the entire collection of Hug & Kisses patterns here.

So with combining these two patterns, you get the best of both worlds.  A textured blanket that hooks up pretty quickly!

I really hope you enjoy this new series as much as I have enjoyed creating it.  I already have plans to release other Gigi Designs!

Hi I’m in Australia and was wondering if your pattern is American as dc to me is sc to you.
I usually use the English translation in crochet patterns. Wondering if you have a translation.

All of our patterns are done in North America terminology. In order to keep as much as possible free, we only offer the North American version.

It’s so interesting the way the terms are. One’s names reference the number of loops on the hook and the other names reference the number of times our hook pass through in order to create the stitch

Row 10 is off. There's way too many stitches between peaks and valleys. I count 25 in the second section when there's only supposed to be 18.
