Crochet a Quick Market Bag or Five!
It's almost time for my annual girlfriends' retreat. Every year, we meet in a different location of the country to scrapbook, craft and basically just have a lot of fun. This year's retreat is in Houston, Texas. I am very excited because we are actually staying in a house right near the beach.
One of the fun things we do is make little gifts for each other. I usually show up with some nice crocheted washcloths for everyone. This year, we only have 6 people who can attend, so with the small group, I decided to go a bit bigger and crochet each person a market bag. These will also make great beach bags because of the mesh design.
I choose the Lily Sugar 'n Cream Market Bag from the Yarnspirations website. Let me tell you, this was the quickest bag every. The pattern is great for a beginner to learn how to make a fun bag. It is well written and easy to follow. I made each bag in just a few hours. The solid colours used only 2 balls of yarn and the striped ones used a bit more than 2 balls.
If you are in need a fast gift, I recommend this pattern. I also think this would be a great seller at a craft fair booth for those of you always asking for suggestions of crocheted items to sell.
