Crochet Modern Baby Granny Blanket Pattern
I hear it all the time. People love the look of the granny blanket, but don’t like the big holes that the pattern produces, especially for baby blankets. Using the block stitch, you can have the look of the granny, without the gaping holes in the fabric.

For this design, I used Bernat Super Value yarn in Magenta, Yellow, Soft Grey, White and Baby Pink. I had plenty of extra to make the matching Modern Baby Lovey.

very nice how many squares would it take to make a adult blanket please?
Each square is about 5.5 inches, so it would depend on what size you would want your adult blanket to be. The border adds about 12″ total.
I am having difficulty wrapping my head around the joining of the squares for the baby blanket. I would define myself as fairly good crocheted. Would love a tutorial on the joining.

Mikey is in the process of filming it soon.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wNYfeCnePMo Mikey just posted this video and it shows this jayg edging if I am not mistaken.
Just to clarify, are the slip stitches in the beginnings of rows 3 and 5 meant to be in the stitch or the space? Thanks!
Can this pattern be used as a giant blanket? IE: one big square?
I have done that in the past.
Sure can!
