Crochet Study of Puffed Dessert Blanket

Like decorating a cake but with yarn and crochet, this Study of Puffed Dessert Blanket is a 2-row repeat. Strategized with having six rows for each colour before changing, its soft, pastel, cake-like piped frosting is a stitcher's delight. This is using Bernat Blanket yarn.

This was designed at the same time as the Crochet Study of Snow Blanket. Let the lighting be the factor that showcases the texture and the ease of this square design. You will see in the article that there is another sample in regular 4-ply #4 worsted-weight yarn for comparison. You can make this as big as you need to.

Hey Mikey! LOVE LOVE LOVE your patterns!

I am hoping to make this in a #4 (worsted) weight yarn. It says in the notes that "You will see in the article that there is another sample in regular 4-ply #4 worsted-weight yarn for comparison."

I can't seem to locate this information. Can you point me in the right direction?

Appreciate your help and all your AMAZING resources.

I believe that reference is for the Study of Snow. He originally designed that one in a worsted weight yarn and that example is in the article for Study of Snow.

If you wish to do Study of Puffed Dessert in a worsted weight, he shares the stitch multiples so the pattern can be adjusted for any size and yarn. We have a sizing chart that can help you ballpark a starting chain that you will find on our website “How Many Chains to Start a Blanket”.

I need to understand if I end up with 4 BP in a row when starting the repeat section, or if the two you end with are the beginning of the next repeat?

Yes, that's correct. The repeating is in the middle of that for ease of repeating across.

Have a question …..When completing last popcorn and dcbp before repeat. When beginning the repeat 1 dcbp over next 2 then FC2dcfp. When completing as written it puts 3 stitches between popcorn and FC2dcfp, not 1. And the written diagram only shows the 1 stitch after popcorn. If follow diagram with only 1 stitch after popcorn the stitch count for row is off.

Follow just the diagram. I have to check with Yarnspirations. This was to be updated last summer.
