Mikey aka Michael Sellick is the creator of The Crochet Crowd. Generally speaking, he prefers projects that have texture to keep himself mentally interested.
He is forever learning about new stitches and how to incorporate them into designs. Mikey is generally a slow designer as he balances a great deal of time on YouTube in the effort to continually teach free patterns created by Yarnspirations. When there is free time, he self creates.
He doesn’t specialize in clothing designs as he has not attended fashion school so he sticks to the basics and what everyday crocheters may prefer.

I purchased the My Love Baby Blanket of rows of hearts in a filet crochet pattern.
I saw your video on doing this pattern, thats why I purchased it cause I knew you would walk me thru the pattern, and now I have the yarn and cannot find your tutorial video……HELP
Hi Esther
I am not sure what pattern that is, but you won’t find a video of it on our channel. We do not sell patterns (the only ones that are for purchase are the ones from The Crochet Crowd book). As the pattern you have purchase is not a The Crochet Crowd team or Yarnspirations design, the video will not be found on our platform or channels I am terribly sorry, I hope you are able to find the video for the pattern. I would suggest reaching out on the platform you purchased it from for assistance in finding a video to assist you.
Hello and THANK YOU!!
Mikey has been such a great help to me. I am self-taught and would not be able to do the projects I’ve done without Mikey. His videos are perfect!! I read where you (Mikey) said people complain because you talk too much. I disagree! When I follow along with a Mikey video it’s like he’s right there teaching me. I appreciate the laughter and the conversation. Thank you!
I have a question – I have started a pattern for a crochet stocking using split single crochet with a fair isle style motif. The pattern is worked in spirals which leaves an awful jag seam and this causes the motif to not be perfect all the way around. Ugh! I have searched the Internet for a solution, but haven’t found one. I figure Mikey will have an answer though. Can I adapt the pattern to rounds? Or is there something I can add or do to make this stocking design perfect on the front and back?
Thanks so much for your time. You are a blessing to so many of us. Thank you!
Try to go in continous rounds instead because what you are saying happens is really obvious with that stitch. I really dislike split single crochet. THat’s what I would do.
Hi,
I enjoy learning new stitches. I am looking for the Lee Johnson’s Wavy American Flag pattern. Hope you can help me. I would like to make one for my husband who was in USAF during the Vietnam War. Also his birthday is on the 4th of July.
Morning Ann, I have not heard of this designer. Have you tried ETSY or Ravelry? It’s the only 2 places I can think of to look other than a general Google Search. – Michael
Mikey, I love your videos. I’ve done my best work watching YOU!!!
I can’t seem to do any of the blankets, etc. without following Mikey’s videos. I don’t do well with graphs or worded instructions. I need the step-by-step videos and Mikey is so clear in his instructions and goes at a pace I can follow. Thank you, Mikey.
I’m sorry about that.
Mikey I love how you make difficult patterns so easy to follow on your videos.
Love Mikey’s educational videos . I have learned a lot from him and he is my go to when i need to learn a new stitch!
Thank you for your trust in me.
