Crochet a stiff-brim visor hat with a bit of extra add-ons for uniqueness. You can even recolour the hat to colours that match your personality. This is the Free Easy Red Heart Visor Cap crochet pattern.
For my version, to make it look like a captain hat, I changed the yarn from Red Heart Super Saver and used Caron One Pound in white, black, and sunflower. The tutorial will show how to make my version, the only difference being the colour choice.
Inside the brim is a plastic or plastic canvas to hold its stiff shape so it doesn't droop or shape in a silly way. I prefer a stiff brim myself.
