A great knit hat to complete on a plane ride, especially when you have a layover or two. The easy-to-follow knit hat keeps you occupied, and the colours of the Caron Chunky Cupcakes are addictive. The colour used in this version is cotton candy. This is the Easy Caron Chunky Cupcakes Knit Hat pattern.

It's easy to complete without the headaches, as flying is stressful enough. Just one ball and the complementary pom pom are included.

The new colourway of this yarn is coming out in fall 2025 and exclusively at Michaels.

    Learn to Knit Tutorials

You can use this tutorial and the brim is a total of 2" thick before moving on.

    How to Knit Stitch

The following videos use the same reduction at the top of the hat, which is standard in knitting. If you need additional help, you can use this to follow to the end of the hat. It starts at the moment you begin to decrease.

Learn to knit from the very beginning if this is too hard for you. We have another pattern that may be easier for you. This was Mikey's First Knit Hat when he decided to learn to knit for the first time for hats.
