The pattern begins at Preemie, 6 months and up to 18 months in sizing. The sizing of the brim is what defines the size and the number of repeats for the height of the hat.
In the tutorial, I used Bernat Softee Cotton as my choice in the variegated colouring. In the right yarn that is meaningful for your family, the colours and styling can be timeless as a passable heirloom hat for the next generations to come.
