Crochet a Ballerina Bag
I made this Ballerina Bag for my 3 year old granddaughter because she loves to twirl and says she is a ballerina. She also love to play dress up and so this little bag is the perfect size to hold a few of her treasures. I used an old, scratched CD to create a sturdy base for the bag.
Designed by Jeanne Steinhilber
- 2 colors of Lily Sugar ‘n Cream Yarn
- Size 5 mm or H Crochet Hook
- old CD or DVD
Base – make 2
Round 1 – With main color, begin with a Magic Ring, ch 3 and then 11 dc into the ring, sl st to ch 3. (12)
Round 2 – Ch 3, 1 dc into the same stitch. *2 dc into each stitch around. Join with sl st to beginning ch 3. (24)
Round 3 – Ch 3, dc into the same stitch, *1 dc in next stitch, 2 dc in next. Repeat * around. Final stitch is 1 dc and join to beginning ch 3. (36)
Round 4 – Ch 3, dc into the same stitch, *dc in the next 2 stitches, 2 dc in the next. Repeat * around and join to beginning ch 3. (48)
Finish off the first base. After you complete the 4th round of the second base, do not finish off.
Hold the 2 bases with the wrong sides together and sc through the back loops only of both circles. When you get a bit more than half-way around, insert the CD into the base and continue the sc to completely close the base. Sl st to beginning sc.
