Bernat Bright Ideas Crochet Book Review

Bright Ideas Pattern Book

Bernat is exploring colour with this fun-a-licious book. This book concentrates on pillows, simplistic table topers, creates and one doll as seen on the picture above. The book is fully colour with how to crochet instructions and tips. The colours are vibrant and I couldn’t help but love the back cover of the Dog laying on it’s new Spikey Granny Pillow. It is too cute for words.

I find the designs to be modern and tempting to want to complete the entire book. The doll is simplistic yet visually fantastic to give away as a gift. I could see this book being used for the modern mom who isn’t scared of colours and vibrants for the baby in their lives. But If the mom wants to change the colours, she is more than welcome to settle down the colours to suit their own decor.

The book leaves nothing to the imagination as far as selecting the exact same colour that appears in the book. It’s educational and there are some diagrams in the book to show you placement of squares and etc to create exactly what you see. For Example, the cover showcases a mat with circles. There is actually a pattern to it that is not expected which to me is a round of applause to the creativity within this book.

Don’t forget that doggy on the back. Even the Kerchief it is wearing is provided inside this book. Another fabulous edition to your pattern library!

Mikey, aka Michael Sellick, of The Crochet Crowd, started this online journey back in 2008. A mere hobby in trying to reach out to others as he was mentally struggling with his own issues. His goal was simple, find others in the yarn communities, like him, that have a common interest.

The journey and main baby of the whole idea started with a YouTube Channel and then in 2011, an official website was developed. Michael is not only the face of The Crochet Crowd but also the working engine behind the crowd in self-taught programming, social media and so much more.

Enjoy the stitching journey. Life is short, enjoy this wonderful hobby and all of the learning opportunities that come with it.
